Job Summary
Seeking a Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join an acute care hospital with Magnet designation and Level II Trauma status. The position offers a 4x10 day shift schedule with on-call responsibilities.
Schedule
- Shift: 4 days per week, 10 hours each day
- On-call: 1 day per week plus every 4th/5th weekend (Friday 6:00 PM to Monday 7:30 AM)
- Weekend: On-call and approximately 1 Saturday per month as part of the scheduled shifts
- Floating: May float within scope to Electrophysiology (EP) or Interventional Radiology (IR) units
- Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 10-hour shift every 2 weeks)
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

On-Call and Floating
- On-call required 1 day per week and every 4th/5th weekend
- Floating within scope to EP or IR units may be required
Required Documentation & Compliance (Summary)
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screening: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Flu vaccine or declination (seasonal)
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required for travel starts on or after 2/5/2024
- Fit mask testing required (updated annually)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
Training & Competency
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Specialty-specific competency exams as required
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific modules via LMS platform (Workramp)
- Epic training modules completion required
Additional Notes
- Time off requests limited to one per 13-week assignment
- Candidates may be required to float to other units within the facility or nearby facilities
- Candidates must be prepared for on-call and weekend responsibilities
- This is a travel contract position; local candidates are not eligible
