Job Opportunity: Utilization Review Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Start Date: ASAP (working out of a facility starting May 1, 2026)
Travel Radius: Prefer local candidates within 60 miles of Washington, DC


Job Description

  • Must have current utilization review experience within the last year.
  • Position involves utilization review nursing duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of District of Columbia
  • Minimum 1 year of case management experience, including experience within the last year
  • Utilization review experience, including familiarity with InterQual criteria
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Additional Requirements

  • Complete employment application with 7 years of work history (no gaps), education, license, and contact information.
  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
  • Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function.
  • I9 and E-Verify documentation required upon hire.

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is required: must have completed at least one prior travel contract or equivalent per diem experience.
  • Preference given to candidates local to the DC area within a 60-mile radius.
  • This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week assignment length.
