Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Paducah, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work hours: 0600-1630
• Call every 3rd weekend
• 1-2 nights per week on call
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience required
• No scrubbing required
• Must be competent with the following procedures and skills:

  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
  • Aortic, Mitral, Tricuspid valve procedures
  • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements)
  • Aortic arch and root replacements with circulatory arrest
  • ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
  • Impella insertions
  • Open thoracotomies
  • Laparoscopic thoracoscopies
  • Mediastinoscopies
  • Other related chest procedures

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, with experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• State License 1 Verification
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Current Driver’s License if driving is a job responsibility
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal history check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM verification
  • HHS/OIG verification
• Education verification matching specialty; diploma or transcript may be required
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Required certifications must have matching legal name on documents
• Professional references: 2 required for clinical candidates
• Skills checklist specific to unit, updated annually

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
• Fit mask test (respirator fit test) updated annually; religious exemption accepted with documentation
• Immunizations and testing:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination acceptable for non-clinical only)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or titer proof (declinations not accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or titer proof (declinations not accepted)
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption with facility-specific form
