Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Paducah, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work hours: 0600-1630
- Call every 3rd weekend
- 1-2 nights per week on call
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience required
- No scrubbing required
- Must be competent with the following procedures and skills:
- CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
- Aortic, Mitral, Tricuspid valve procedures
- TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements)
- Aortic arch and root replacements with circulatory arrest
- ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
- Impella insertions
- Open thoracotomies
- Laparoscopic thoracoscopies
- Mediastinoscopies
- Other related chest procedures
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, with experience within the last year
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- State License 1 Verification
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Current Driver’s License if driving is a job responsibility
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal history check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM verification
- HHS/OIG verification
- Education verification matching specialty; diploma or transcript may be required
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Required certifications must have matching legal name on documents
- Professional references: 2 required for clinical candidates
- Skills checklist specific to unit, updated annually
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
- Fit mask test (respirator fit test) updated annually; religious exemption accepted with documentation
- Immunizations and testing:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination acceptable for non-clinical only)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or titer proof (declinations not accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella vaccination or titer proof (declinations not accepted)
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption with facility-specific form
