Job Description
- Ventilator management
- Medicated aerosol treatments
- Bipap management
- Open Heart care
- Intubation
- ABG draws and analysis
- CPT, Nitric oxide therapy
- COVID-19 management
Work Environment
- 24/7 department coverage
- Day shift: 12-16 therapists
- Night shift: 10-13 therapists
- Coverage includes all hospital floors, 30-bed ICU, 25-bed Open Heart unit, 25-bed NICU, and 47-bed/5 Trauma Emergency Department
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Every other weekend work schedule
- No call requirements
- Holiday work expectations: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if 2 holidays, work both; if 3 holidays, work 2 of them
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Dress Code
- Scrubs of any color except all red or all navy blue
Orientation and Compliance
- Maximum Return to Orientation (RTO) time: 7 days
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
Prior Travel Experience
- Not explicitly required, but first-time travelers are not accepted (implying prior travel experience is required)
Additional Requirements
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification required (degree related to specialty)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 60 days of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations including MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Flu vaccine or declination
- Color blindness test required
- Competency exams including Dysrhythmia/EKG competency for relevant units
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- References: 2 clinical references required

- Weekend and holiday work required as specified

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists with at least one year of specialty experience who are comfortable working in a high-acuity, multi-unit hospital environment including ICU, NICU, and trauma settings. Candidates must hold all required certifications and licenses and be prepared for a comprehensive orientation and compliance process.
