Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Job Summary

• Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
• Unit: General Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) Unit
• Typical Diagnoses: Various medical-surgical conditions
• Drips: Heparin, Argatroban
• Monitoring: Chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, various drains
• Wound Care: Mostly independent dressing changes; wound care staff available
• Equipment Used: Bladder Scanner, EKG machine, Vein Finder, IO gun (for code situations), Wound Vacs, PCA pumps, Hoyer Lift, Specialty Beds
• Unit Size & Ratio: 39-bed unit, average daily census 24, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6
• Systems: Epic (EHR), Pyxis (medication dispensing)
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend (6 weekend days per 6-week schedule)
• Floating: Yes, within facility and sister campus as needed and within scope of practice
• Call Requirements: None
• Holiday Work: Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (expectation varies by number of holidays during contract)
• Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with recent Med Surg experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience

• Floating within facility and sister campus as needed
• No call requirements
• Compliance with all onboarding and credentialing requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays may result in assignment pushback
• Locals accepted at same rate
• Orientation hours vary based on contract length
