Job Opportunity: PACU/Pre Op/Phase 2 Registered Nurse
Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota

Job Details
- Shift Options: 8-hour or 12-hour shifts
- Start Times: 5:30 AM, 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Years of Experience Required: 3 years in specialty
- First-Time Travelers: Not accepted
- Weekend Requirement: None
- On-Call Requirement: None
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Scheduling: Considered
- Local Candidates: Not accepted within 100-mile radius
- Pending License: Accepted
- Return to Office Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Epic Electronic Health Record experience required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota
- Minimum 3 years of PreOp / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current PALS certification
- Experience with Epic Electronic Health Record system
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 1 year of start date (including statewide and national searches)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 1 year of start
- MN DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance required prior to start (no starts allowed with fingerprints pending unless a specific clearance letter is provided)
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Adult Tdap (no declinations accepted without exemption approval)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer required)
- Hepatitis B (proof of immunity or vaccination series)
- Varicella (proof of immunity or vaccination series)
- Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required for 2025-2026 season (declinations accepted)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start (9-panel acceptable)
- OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance required prior to start for fit testing
Additional Requirements
- Annual medication/pharmacology competency exam required
- Annual skills checklist required (Medical-Surgical skills checklist acceptable for PreOp)
- Completion of facility-specific online preorientation modules within 72 hours of assignment acceptance (approximate time: 5 hours for PACU RN)
- Passport-style photo for badge required within 48 hours of contract signing
- Uniform provided by unit

Notes
- Candidates must be able to complete all required background checks, immunizations, and training prior to start date.
- Prior travel experience is not required, but first-time travelers are not accepted for this role.
- Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs.
- Parking is available with some cost after the first day depending on shift.
This position is ideal for experienced PACU/Pre Op RNs with strong Epic experience seeking a travel contract in Minnesota.
