Job Description

Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with experience in:

• Adult ICU
• Emergency Room (including pediatric intubation and mechanical ventilation)
• Nursery (Level 1), including attending high-risk C-sections and participation in resuscitation teams
• Medical-Surgical floors

The therapist will float to all areas of the hospital, caring for patients ranging from newborns to adults.

Required Experience & Skills

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Maine
• More than 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Experience working in ICU, Emergency Room, Nursery (Level 1), and Medical-Surgical floors
• Experience working with pediatric patients, including those needing intubation and mechanical ventilation in the ER
• Experience working with high-risk patients and maternal-fetal patients
• Experience attending high-risk C-sections
• Experience being part of a resuscitation team
• Certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Certifications Required

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Work Details

• Shift: Nights
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: 36
• Call: None required
• Unit has approximately 159 beds
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) preferred to ensure comfort and competence with critically ill pediatric patients

Additional Notes

• The RRT will be part of a resuscitation team and expected to float across various hospital departments.
• Must be a team player with strong communication skills and a positive, respectful attitude.
