Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 0620 - 1900 (36 hours)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays and other future holidays during the contract
- On-call: None
- Patient Population: Includes telemetry patients; experience with gender affirmation surgery patients preferred but not required
- Unit Ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
- Float Requirement: Must float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- COVID-19: May come into contact with COVID patients
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)
- Preferred Experience: Cerner electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Maryland
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience in MS/Telemetry
- Travel Experience: Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Skills:
- Telemetry skills required
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
- Vaccinations:
- Flu vaccine required (facility mandate)
- Other standard immunizations and health screenings as per facility policy (e.g., TB test, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥ 80%)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (annual update required)
Additional Requirements
- Background Checks: Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- Drug Screen: Within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Physical Exam: Annual physical confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Other Documentation:
- I9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare)
References & Work History
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Verification of at least 2 years of employment in the past 7 years, including 1 prior travel assignment
Notes
- Candidates must be comfortable working with diverse patient populations, including those undergoing gender affirmation surgery.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Must be willing to work required weekends and holidays.
- Scrubs are not provided; navy blue color required.
- Must be able to float to other units of similar or lower acuity.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with telemetry skills who have prior travel experience and are comfortable working night shifts with a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
