Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse
- Shift Options: 3x12 or 4x12 hour night shifts (1900-0730)
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
- Float Requirements: Must float to ICU and Intermediate Care (IMC) units
- Shift Mix: Majority day shifts with up to two weeks of night shifts during the six-week schedule
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Ability to float to ICU and IMC units
- Must be available for every other weekend and holiday shifts
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Proof of pending DC RN license at submission and active license before start
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- Drug screening within 90 days (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform duties without accommodations
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Annual N95 fit test (or client will complete onsite if needed)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared to complete required competency exams and certifications as per unit requirements
- Background checks and drug screens must be current and compliant with facility policies
- Candidates should be flexible to float between CVICU, ICU, and IMC units as needed
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not strictly required for this assignment
