Job Description

Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care. This position involves day shift work with weekend and holiday rotations.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state practice laws.
• Document patient care according to standards.
• Perform patient assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.
• Develop and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians or clinic policy, including patient and family education.
• Participate in department/unit performance improvement activities and shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
• Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately.
• Engage in professional nursing development, unit practice activities, and peer review processes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program (education verification required)

Schedule

• Day shift with weekend and holiday rotation.
