Job Opportunity: Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse

Location: Lamar, Colorado

Job Description

Provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical unit, managing a group of patients during assigned shifts. Responsibilities include:

• Performing ongoing patient assessments and data collection
• Developing goal-directed plans of care based on patient needs and unit resources
• Responding efficiently to emergency situations following established protocols
• Supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Nurse Aides on the unit
• Functioning effectively under high-stress conditions requiring crisis intervention and problem solving

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Frequent walking and standing throughout the shift
• Regular reaching, twisting, squatting, lifting, and handling of equipment
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases

Schedule

• Full-time, 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts
• Overtime may be required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 3 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, including at least 1 year within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Previous related nursing experience

Additional Information

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment with frequent crisis situations
• Strong assessment, IV, and independent decision-making skills required

No prior travel experience is required for this position.
