Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule:
- Weekends required: Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
- On-call required: Minimum 1 shift per month
- Block schedules required for weekend shifts
- Floating: No floating between units
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Special Requirements:
- Hospital experience including surgery and some fluoroscopy required
- Experience with O-arm equipment required
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
- Charting System: Epic
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Oregon
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Hospital experience, including surgery
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) valid within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations and/or titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use, medically cleared annually
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
- Completion of required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules annually via LMS platform
- Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)
Additional Notes
- Floating policy acknowledgment required (may be required to float to other nearby facilities)
- Must be able to work scheduled weekend shifts and on-call shifts as required
- Experience with hospital fluoroscopy and O-arm equipment is mandatory
- Charting is done in Epic system
This position is ideal for X-Ray Technologists with hospital experience, including surgery and fluoroscopy, who are comfortable working weekends and on-call shifts in a short-term acute care setting.
