Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Tennessee, Bristol

Job Details

• Location: Bristol, Tennessee
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 36 hours on / 36 hours off (36/36 schedule)
• Work Pattern: Every other weekend, no call required
• Floating: May float to other units as needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:7 (must be pre-closed to sub)
• Orientation:

  • General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
  • 16 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Shift Flexibility:

  • Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
  • Additional shifts may be available as overtime

Requirements

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical nursing care in assigned specialty
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical duties

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification required
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check if licensed or working in Tennessee
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 14 days of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption during flu season
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccination documentation
  • Varicella titer or vaccination documentation
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
• Respirator medical evaluation and fit testing completed onsite
• Photo for badge within 48 hours of contract signing
• Annual safety manual acknowledgement
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Additional Notes

• Candidates must commit to completing all compliance and documentation by deadlines
• Hospital may adjust shifts based on census without financial penalty
• Participation in clinical education for nursing students is expected
