Description
Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- Days, 8-hour shifts
- Monday - Friday, 8:15 AM - 5:15 PM
- Saturday rotation, standby call, and holiday rotations may be assigned based on operational need
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Certifications & Compliance Requirements
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP as applicable (check unit description)
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
- National certification/verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration (as applicable)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) as required for telemetry and related specialties
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency Exam (as applicable)
Background & Screening Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start date, including SSN trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender search
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire and monthly thereafter
- Education verification as applicable to specialty
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening within 90 days of start (state-mandated)
- Drug screening required for clinical candidates (standard 9-panel instant acceptable)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (must meet agency standard within 1 year)
- Fit mask test completed onsite
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof (10-year update not mandatory)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers; medical/religious exemptions considered
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form (required for direct patient care or blood/body fluid exposure)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer; medical/religious exemptions considered
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination (for certain departments)
Testing & Exams
- Adult and Pediatric Telemetry Exams required for inpatient units as applicable
- Rhythm Interpretation Course required if remediation needed after telemetry exam attempts
- Strict testing deadlines and remediation process apply
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no headwear except religious/medical)
- Signed acknowledgments for safety manuals and pass/fail testing
- References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years (agency standard)
