Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialist (RRT)

Location: New London, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Shift options: 8 and/or 12 hour shifts; evenings and/or nights
  • Work schedule includes at least every other weekend and every other holiday, based on department needs
  • Floating to a nearby hospital as needed
  • Facility type: Short term acute care, Level III trauma center
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Scrubs color: Navy blue
  • Free parking available

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Connecticut
  • Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with pediatric patients, including pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Additional Requirements & Training

  • Various facility-specific training modules and attestations required prior to or upon start, including but not limited to:
    • Stroke education (not required for pediatrics and NICU)
    • CLABSI prevention
    • Pressure injury prevention
    • Language services training
    • Suicide risk and environmental assessment
    • Pyxis ES MedStation training
    • Baxter pump interoperability
    • Patient bedside rounding (except OR, Behavioral Health, Ambulatory, ER/ED)
    • Ventricular assist device awareness
    • Blood administration module (annual update required)
    • New employee orientation
    • 21st Century Cures Act module (for RRT and other clinical roles)
    • Chaperone policy training
    • ECart training (not required for pediatrics, periop/OR, outpatient, case managers, home health)

Notes

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends
  • Floating to a nearby hospital may be required
  • Facility is a Level III trauma center with 252 staffed beds
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this role
