Job Opportunity: Case Manager Registered Nurse
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Case Manager role in an acute hospital setting. This is a travel contract position requiring an Alaska RN license in hand for automatic offer. The position involves working day shifts with a 5x8 schedule and weekend coverage every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (Day shift)
- Possible shift times:
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Yes (every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule)
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Minimum 1 year of Acute Care Case Management experience within the last year
- Acute Care experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Licensure & Certifications
- Must have a current Alaska RN license in hand (pending licenses not accepted for auto offer)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Case Management (ACM) certification preferred
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
- Must be able to work weekends as specified
- One time off request allowed per 13-week assignment (up to 5 days)
- No holiday time off allowed for auto offer
- Guaranteed minimum hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 8-hour shift per 2 weeks)

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screening (9 panel) within 12 months of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
Training & Competency Requirements
- Must have completed medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Skills checklist required annually for applicable units
- Epic training and access required prior to or shortly after start
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:
- Annual regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules for case management and acute care roles
- Basics of trauma-informed care (required at this facility)
Notes
- Floating to other units or facilities within a reasonable distance may be required
- Candidates must comply with all state and facility-specific background and credentialing requirements
- This position does not accept candidates with pending licenses for automatic offer
This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse with acute care and case management experience who is flexible with scheduling and able to work in a fast-paced hospital environment in Anchorage, Alaska.
