Description

Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Acute Care

Location: Amarillo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts
  • Work Setting: Acute Care
  • Travel Radius: 50 miles
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
  • First-time travelers: Accepted

Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., ACLS, PALS), depending on patient population and unit needs.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to work day shifts, 5 days per week
  • Must meet all facility credentialing and compliance requirements

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background check covering the last 7 years, updated annually
  • Education verification (highest level)
  • Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Immunizations and titers including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or documented history)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • Skills checklist and work history verification as required

Additional Notes

  • Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
  • Unit-specific skills checklist must be completed annually
  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license or state ID
  • Facility accepts first-time travel therapists
