Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Acute Care
Location: Amarillo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts
- Work Setting: Acute Care
- Travel Radius: 50 miles
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
- First-time travelers: Accepted
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., ACLS, PALS), depending on patient population and unit needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work day shifts, 5 days per week
- Must meet all facility credentialing and compliance requirements
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check covering the last 7 years, updated annually
- Education verification (highest level)
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Skills checklist and work history verification as required
Additional Notes
- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
- Unit-specific skills checklist must be completed annually
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license or state ID
- Facility accepts first-time travel therapists
