Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Westwood, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts plus 1 weekend shift per month
• Patient Population: Primarily geriatric patients with diagnoses including post-op ACDF, pneumonia, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and falls
• Charting System: Epic
• Special Equipment: Modified Barium Swallow (MBS)/Imaging

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) certification
• Modified Airway Bypass (MAB) certification

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background checks including 7-year history and education verification
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or documented history)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Valid driver’s license or state ID
• Completion of employment application and skills checklist as required
• Work history verification for 7 years (NJ requires minimum 1 year verified with limited gaps)

Additional Notes

• Locals within a 50-mile radius will not be accepted for this travel assignment
• Prior travel experience is preferred but not explicitly required
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
• Medication/pharmacology competency exams and color blindness testing may be required as applicable
