Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Details
- Targeted start dates: May 4 or May 18
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes
- Orientation: Bi-weekly
- Local candidates within 75 miles are considered local
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of CVPICU experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s license or State ID)
- Social Security Card (if used for I9 verification)
- Background check within 90 days of start, including:
- SSN trace, county, alias, nationwide, sex offender, international (if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification as applicable
- Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination/titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination (required for flu season)
- Polio vaccine or attestation
- Competency exam and unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
- Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months (at least one supervisor)
- Employment application with 7 years of work history
- Completion of required online modules prior to orientation
- Setup of a guest account for access to orientation and work systems prior to clearance
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and clearances prior to start date; no pending background checks allowed.
- Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous assignments may have some documentation accepted on file.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card training may be required depending on unit; training provided onsite if needed.
- Pass/fail testing on EKG/medication knowledge administered at orientation (passing score 80%).
- Color blind testing required only for specific roles (e.g., phlebotomists).
- Candidates must be prepared to submit documentation of all certifications and immunizations at orientation.
This position offers an opportunity for travel nurses with at least 1 year of RN experience to work in a dynamic environment with weekend and floating requirements. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
