Description
Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Unit Details
- High volume structural echo lab performing:
- TEE, stress echo, complete TTE with Lumason contrast, 3D and Strain
- Patient types: inpatient, ICU, and outpatients
- Procedures include structural echos for TAVRs, Mitral Clips, MVRs, TVRs, ASD closures
- Experience scanning patients with devices such as LVAD, Impella, and ECMO
- Support for organ recovery center and spine center
- Sonographers enter preliminary reports and have strong collaboration with cardiologists
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends required
- Call: 1 week of call twice during the 13-week contract
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of specialty experience required
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
Holidays
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Onboarding & Compliance
- Maximum 7 days return to office (RTO)
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance push start by 2 weeks due to orientation schedule
- Orientation hours are non-billable and proportional to contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Valid State License for Cardiac Sonographer (as applicable)
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification of related degree required (can be pending with proof of processing)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification may be required depending on specialty guidelines
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Other certifications may be required based on clinical track (refer to specialty requirements)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if prior positive)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination required
- TB questionnaire required annually
Competency Exams & Testing
- Color Blind Testing required for all candidates
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain specialties (may apply)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam may be required for nursing/allied health roles
Additional Notes
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Candidate must review and sign code of conduct and dress/professional appearance policies prior to start
- References: 2 clinical references required
- Skills checklist and work history verification required within 12 months
