Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a high-volume, high-census unit specializing in high-risk obstetric patients with a diverse patient population.
- Provide postpartum treatment following delivery.
- Float assignments required to other campuses including Postpartum and Labor and Delivery (2nd hour of recovery).
- Standard patient assignment includes 4 couplets.
- Manage conditions such as postpartum hemorrhage and substance withdrawal.
- Experience with magnesium therapy, Pitocin administration, Foley catheter care, and EPIC electronic health record system is mandatory.
- JADA experience preferred.
- Weekends: 6 weekend days per contract.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
- Minimum 2 years of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- At least 2 years of total travel nursing experience.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience working with high-risk obstetric patients.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Proficient with EPIC electronic health record system.
Work Schedule
- Includes weekend shifts (6 weekend days per contract).
Additional Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Immunizations: TDAP, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), Flu vaccine during flu season, COVID vaccine or declination.
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Respirator clearance required for travel candidates.
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years.
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules and facility-specific training prior to start.
- Float policy acknowledgment required.
Notes
- Candidates must have completed at least one prior travel contract.
- This position does not accept first-time travelers.
- Floating to other campuses within reasonable distance may be required.
- Facility-specific badge photo required (passport style with neutral background).
- Compliance with all state-specific background and registry checks is mandatory.
This role is ideal for experienced obstetric RNs with a strong background in postpartum and mother-baby care who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-risk environment and have prior travel nursing experience.
