Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Salina, Kansas

Job Details

• Location: Salina, Kansas
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Unit: 38-bed unit with Nephrology, Oncology, and General Medical patients; includes Dialysis unit
• Floating: As needed to Med-Surg units, ED, or ICU for floor patient care

Requirements

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
• One completed travel assignment
• Telemetry experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
• Experience with MEDITECH EMR
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Facility Requirements

• Must comply with a 100-mile radius rule (mileage reviewed case-by-case)
• Blocked scheduling in place
• Prior employees of this facility will not be considered

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID
• E-Verify proof or attestation
• Background check: 7-year criminal history within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education verification or proof of highest degree earned
• State license primary source verification (Nursys verification required for RNs)
• Physical exam within 60 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or ARNP confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• N95 Fit Test within 12 months of start (onsite testing available if needed)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap (recommended for most, required for Birth Center/NICU staff)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination series
  • Hepatitis B immunity or declination form
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination series
• Drug screening: 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 60 days of start (SAMHSA certified, reviewed by MRO)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted

Additional Notes

• Required to complete facility-specific Healthstream modules (~8 hours) prior to start
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the organization over 1 year
• Skills checklist and competency exams required as applicable
• Floating assignments may include Med-Surg, ED, or ICU floor patient care

This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with Meditech EMR proficiency and prior travel contract experience, comfortable working night shifts in a multi-specialty medical unit with diverse patient care needs.
