Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be a vital member of the patient care team responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process. The Emergency Center provides a full spectrum of emergency care including a separate Chest Pain Center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients upon admission and throughout their stay
• Administer IV medications, therapy, and blood products as needed
• Provide patient education
• Document nursing care actions, teaching, observations, and patient responses

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience

Additional Information

• Candidates with any licensure or background issues will not be considered
• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
• The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
