Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Sitka, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

This position is within the Operating Room, handling all types of elective and emergency surgical cases including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN procedures. The role requires efficient multitasking to ensure surgical cases proceed timely throughout the day. The position includes after-hour call coverage for nights, holidays, and weekends.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (BSN, Associate Degree, or Diploma)
• Valid, current, full, and unrestricted RN license in Alaska at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Flu vaccine required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Critical Access Hospitals and/or Rural Operating Rooms strongly preferred

Additional Information

• Start date will be no less than 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are received for processing; travelers must schedule fingerprint appointments promptly to avoid delays
• Applicants must live at least 50 miles away from the work location
• No housing or flight accommodations provided
• Prior travel experience is required for this position
