Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Weekend shifts required
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (night shift)
- Floating between campuses may be required
- Patient ratio: Not applicable
- Equipment used: GE Ventilators
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- High school diploma or college diploma
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and state fingerprinting (BCI/FBI)
- Fingerprinting must be completed using specific state codes and within 1 year of start date
- Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Annual acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
- Completion of unit-specific competency exams may be required
Work Environment
- Night shifts on weekends
- Floating between multiple campuses may be necessary
- Use of specialized respiratory equipment (GE ventilators)

- Candidates must comply with all background, health, and certification requirements prior to start
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory
