Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery

Job Description

• Provide quality, compassionate care by maintaining professional nursing standards and fostering positive therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Serve as a leader by articulating and delegating standards of care, supervising, and encouraging team members.
• Supervise LPNs, PCAs, Ortho Techs, and other non-licensed staff.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Shift: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (40 hours weekly).
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required.
• Must be able to circulate in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (18 months considered)
• At least 1 year of recent Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross

Additional Information

• This is a patient-facing clinical position.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week.
• Parking available.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
