Description

Occupational Therapist - Acute Care

Location: Salem, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position in Acute Rehab unit
  • ICU experience strongly preferred
  • Acute care experience required
  • Schedule: 4x9 hour shifts, with 3-4 weekend dates

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Oregon
  • Acute care experience required
  • ICU experience strongly preferred
  • Clear copy of driver's license, passport, or state ID required
  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start (7-year search)
  • Required certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or equivalent
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit (confirm if needed)
  • Physical exam within one year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year of start
  • Required immunizations or documented immunity:
    • Tdap (or facility-specific declination)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (antibody titers or vaccines)
    • Varicella (chickenpox) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series (booster or declination if low titer)
  • Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
  • Competency exams as required by facility
  • References: 2 references within last 2 years showing 1 year in comparable specialty; at least one supervisory reference within last 12 months

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior ICU experience
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required but may be preferred

Additional Information

  • Badge photo required at least 8 days prior to start (white background)
  • Fit mask testing required onsite within first week of start
  • Completion of required facility-specific training modules prior to or shortly after start
  • Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start and ongoing
  • Education verification required for non-licensed providers (not applicable for OT)

Schedule & Work Environment

  • 4 days per week, 9 hours per day
  • Includes 3-4 weekend shifts during the contract
  • Acute rehab unit setting with potential ICU exposure
