Occupational Therapist - Acute Care
Location: Salem, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position in Acute Rehab unit
- ICU experience strongly preferred
- Acute care experience required
- Schedule: 4x9 hour shifts, with 3-4 weekend dates
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Oregon
- Acute care experience required
- ICU experience strongly preferred
- Clear copy of driver's license, passport, or state ID required
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start (7-year search)
- Required certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or equivalent
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit (confirm if needed)
- Physical exam within one year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year of start
- Required immunizations or documented immunity:
- Tdap (or facility-specific declination)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (antibody titers or vaccines)
- Varicella (chickenpox) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series (booster or declination if low titer)
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
- Competency exams as required by facility
- References: 2 references within last 2 years showing 1 year in comparable specialty; at least one supervisory reference within last 12 months
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior ICU experience
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required but may be preferred
Additional Information
- Badge photo required at least 8 days prior to start (white background)
- Fit mask testing required onsite within first week of start
- Completion of required facility-specific training modules prior to or shortly after start
- Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start and ongoing
- Education verification required for non-licensed providers (not applicable for OT)
Schedule & Work Environment
- 4 days per week, 9 hours per day
- Includes 3-4 weekend shifts during the contract
- Acute rehab unit setting with potential ICU exposure
