Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Location: Midland, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks (approximately 4 months)
Start Date: Preferred within the next 3-5 weeks
Minimum Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Registered Nurse (RN) rotating through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition (no post-partum).
- Must be proficient in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 10-year Criminal Background Check required within 30 days of start.
- Employment and education verifications including highest level of education.
- State-specific background checks for Texas (DPS Criminal History, Employee Misconduct Registry, Employability Status Check).
- Drug screening and blood testing consent required; onsite drug screen during orientation.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity for:
- Hepatitis B
- Mumps
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or agency declination (required October 1 - March 31)
- N95 Fit Test (no PAPR accepted) within 1 year of start.
Additional Requirements
- Must review and sign confidentiality, security, drug screening, TB questionnaire, and compliance checklists prior to start.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency required within 1 year of start.
- Two professional references within 3 years.
- Resume or employment application required.
- Annual updates required for background checks, certifications, and safety manual acknowledgment.

- Rotation includes multiple Labor and Delivery-related areas but excludes post-partum.
- This is a travel contract position with a minimum commitment of approximately 3 months.
