Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Huntington, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 shifts per week (3x12-hour night shifts)
Job Description
- Provide critical care nursing in an ICU setting.
- Must have at least 1 year of critical care experience.
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Cerner electronic health records is highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in West Virginia.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of critical care nursing experience.
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – required for ICU
- NIH Stroke Certification (or must complete onsite within 2 weeks of start)
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start.
- Drug screening within 30 days of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- Required immunizations and titers or documented immunity for:
- TB (QGold or T-Spot within 6 months, updated annually)
- Hepatitis B (titer and vaccination series or declination form)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis A (within 6 months)
- Hepatitis C (within 6 months)
- Seasonal Flu vaccine (or approved medical/religious exemption)
- COVID-19 seasonal vaccine (or approved declination form)
- N95 fit testing will be completed onsite; male candidates must be clean-shaven for fit test.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation, education modules, and confidentiality agreements prior to start.
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
- Completion of skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
Additional Information
- Facility requires submission and approval of any medical or religious exemptions for flu and vaccine requirements prior to start.
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and onboarding modules within specified timeframes.
- Night shift ICU experience and Cerner EHR experience are highly valued.
- This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week duration.
This position is ideal for ICU RNs with critical care experience seeking a travel assignment in West Virginia with night shift availability.
