Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary
- 13-week travel contract
- Work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday)
- Patient mix includes both adult and pediatric populations
- Float between Pediatric ICU, Emergency Department, and Adult Critical Care units
- PICU/NICU experience preferred
- Additional float units may be assigned based on skill set and hospital needs
Required Experience
- Minimum 1.5 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
- PICU/NICU experience preferred but not required
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
Job Duties & Procedures
- Blood gas analysis
- Ventilator, BiPAP, and High Flow initiation and management
- Code response participation
- In-house patient transport
- Medication administration
- Chest physical therapy
- Equipment experience with Servo I & U ventilators and V60 BiPAP
Work Schedule
- Every other weekend (Friday and Saturday)
- Must be available to work 2 out of 3 holidays
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Minimum 1.5 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
- Two professional references within the last 2 years (one managerial)
- Background check within 30 days of start, including criminal and motor vehicle records
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel urine test)
- Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Respiratory medical clearance and mandatory on-site fit testing prior to start (annual update required)
- Completion of required competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, IV therapy, and pass/fail testing for EKG and medication
- Color vision testing if job tasks require color discrimination
- Completion of facility-specific floating policy and annual education sign-off
- Additional health documents including immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap) as required
Additional Information
- Charting system used: EPIC
- Onsite fit testing mandatory; facial hair must be shaved unless approved accommodation is provided
- Must complete required annual education and competency exams
- Must comply with facility policies including elder abuse education and assaultive behavior management if applicable
- Candidates must bring all required documentation on the first day of orientation

This is a 13-week travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) position in New Brunswick, NJ, requiring at least 1.5 years of experience.
