Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Bloomington, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a 3-room unit serving inpatient, outpatient, and ER patients
- Patient volume: 13-15 patients per day
- Hours may vary depending on workload
- Open to first-time travelers
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine
- Skills: IV starts, PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
- Procedure experience required:
- Cardiac
- Bone Scan
- Liver/Spleen Scan
- Lung Scan
- Thyroid Studies
- Tumor Localization
- Myocardial
- Preferred procedure experience:
- Brain Scan
- Renal Flow
- SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
- Other certifications may be requested based on specific unit requirements
Documentation & Equipment
- Documentation system: Cerner
- Equipment: Siemens preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Proficient in IV starts
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy required)
- Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and education verification
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months (N95 or approved respirators)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (strongly recommended)
- TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
Additional Requirements
- Completion of unit competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exam (if applicable)
- Color blindness testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment (within 2 years)
- Current employment application with full work history and explanation of any gaps over 30 days
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance forms prior to start

- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
- This position involves working with inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients.
