Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Acute Care
Location: Walla Walla, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an Occupational Therapist with acute care experience for a short-term acute care hospital (Level III Trauma Center) with 104 staffed beds. The position involves floating between units and requires weekend rotations every 4 weeks with compensatory days off. Expected patient load is 8-10 patients per day.

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or equivalent
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or equivalent (verify per clinical track)
- Other certifications as applicable per clinical track and specialty
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (annual)
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification and employment references covering at least 1 year in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
Additional Notes
- Floating policy acknowledgment required
- Must complete required WorkRamp modules annually, including regulatory and specialty-specific training
- Must comply with state-specific background and registry checks as applicable
- No prior travel experience explicitly required
