Job Opportunity: RN Cardiology - Telemetry
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Full-time, 36 hours per week, every other week including holidays.
- Must have experience with cardiac drips such as amiodarone and Cardizem.
- Work involves telemetry nursing care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut.
- Minimum of 1 year telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with cardiac drips (e.g., amiodarone and Cardizem).
- Cardiology nursing experience.
Required Certifications and Compliance
- BLS and ACLS certifications must be current and verifiable.
- Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year.
- Skills checklist for clinical competency.
- Fit test and respirator evaluation (physician-signed).
- COVID-19 vaccination proof or approved exemption.
- MMR, Hepatitis B vaccination series, Influenza vaccine or approved exemption.
- Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA) with chest x-ray if positive.
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
- Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
- Background checks including criminal, education, and exclusion screenings within 30 days of start.
- Signed confidentiality, code of conduct, conflict of interest, and other professional forms.
- System access form completed one week before start.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty experience: Telemetry nursing with cardiac drip management (minimum experience implied by specialty level).
- No explicit prior travel experience required.
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work every other week including holidays.
- Compliance with all onboarding documentation and credential verification is mandatory.
- This role requires attention to detail in maintaining certifications and health screenings.
This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs with cardiac care skills seeking a long-term assignment in Connecticut.
