Job Description

• Primary Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Float to Main OR for primarily Orthopedic and General surgery cases
• Scrub and circulate during surgeries required
• Must have some transplant experience (cardiac, lung, and/or kidney highly preferred)
• Required case experience includes:

  • Valve replacement
  • Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)
  • Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
  • Dissection
  • Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS)
  • Standard cardiac surgeries (CABG, AVR, MVR)
  • TCAR, TEVAR, VADs
• Strong experience in general and orthopedic surgeries in the main OR
• Must have endovascular and vascular experience, including:

  • Endovascular AAA
  • Carotid endarterectomy
  • Arteriogram, angiogram
  • Transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR)
  • AV fistula
  • Femoral-popliteal bypass
• On-call requirements:

  • 24-hour on-call on Saturdays or Sundays (one weekend per month)
  • 8-hour on-call shift on two weekdays (either 3-11 pm or 11 am-7 pm)
• Charting system used: EPIC/OR Manager (PICIS)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Scrubs provided
• Block/special scheduling requires prior approval

Required Experience

• Minimum 2.5 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
• Transplant experience preferred (cardiac, lung, kidney)
• Strong vascular and endovascular surgical experience

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
• Minimum 2.5 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Transplant experience (cardiac, lung, and/or kidney)
• Orthopedics experience
• Vascular surgery experience

Additional Requirements

• Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
• Two professional references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Work history verification per New Jersey state requirements
• Completion of facility-specific education and attestations prior to start
• Compliance with all health and safety documentation, including latex allergy screening and respirator clearance
• Completion of on-call shifts as scheduled

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted
• Scheduling flexibility is limited; block or special scheduling must be approved at booking
• On-site fit testing is mandatory on the first day
• Candidates must comply with all required documentation and certifications to clear for assignment
