Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary

Seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Telemetry experience is preferred but not required. The nurse will provide care on a unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio and must be able to start as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care, including coverage of pediatric patients as needed
• Float between units as required
• Work every other weekend
• No on-call duties
• Manage feeding tube care and IV therapy/phlebotomy (preferred experience)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Experience with feeding tube care and IV therapy/phlebotomy

Schedule & Work Environment

• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend coverage required
• No call responsibilities
• Short-term acute care setting
• Level III Trauma center
• 110 staffed beds

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• BLS and NIH Stroke Certification mandatory
• ACLS and CPI/MAB preferred
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) may be required depending on assignment
• Drug screening, background checks, and immunizations/vaccinations (including TB, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, TDAP) required and must be current
• Fit mask testing (N95 or equivalent) required annually
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season

Additional Requirements

• Proof of I-9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
• Background check covering 7 years of residence/employment history
• Education verification as applicable
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
• Completion of facility-specific forms and acknowledgments prior to start

Notes

• Locals are accepted for this position
• Candidate must not have a blocked schedule
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred but not required
