Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Pediatrics
Location: Bend, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Acute, trauma, Emergency Department (ED), and Critical Care experience required.
- Must be able to work independently in a critical access hospital setting.
- Block schedule with weekend shifts required at minimum every other weekend (may include more based on operational needs).
- Floating to other campus locations within the region may be required.
- First-time travel therapists are not accepted.
- Local candidates outside a 75-mile radius are not accepted.
- Pending license applications are accepted.
- On-call is voluntary, not required.
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Oregon.
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Adult and Pediatric patients.
- Experience in an Acute Care setting.
- Ability to work independently in a critical access hospital.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification as required.
- State license primary source verification required.
- Pending licenses accepted.
Background & Health Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check required within 90 days of start; updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start.
- Education verification including diploma or transcript required.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer required)
- Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable.
- Annual TB questionnaire required.
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or agency-approved declination required during flu season.
- COVID vaccination preferred but not required; declination or exemption required if unvaccinated.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually.
Additional Information
- Must submit a clear, passport-style photo for badge within 48 hours of signing.
- Several facility-specific confidentiality, compliance, and emergency contact forms must be completed prior to start.
- Skills checklist required annually.
Prior Travel Experience
- Prior travel experience is required; first-time travel therapists will not be considered.
This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with pediatric and critical care skills who are comfortable working independently in a rural hospital setting and have prior travel contract experience.
