Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU

• Required Experience: Minimum 1 year in ICU or comparable/higher acuity
• First-time Travelers: Accepted
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating Requirement: Yes
• Charting System: Epic

• Return to Office Restrictions: Maximum 7 days

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider or AHA RQI only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider or AHA RQI only
• NIH Stroke Certification - Preferred but not required

Required Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois
• Primary source verification of license must be completed within 30 days of assignment start
• NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• Background checks including 7-year history, aliases, and multiple federal/state databases
• Education verification (ADN or BSN required)
• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask models required)
• Immunizations and titers (must be completed within 2 business days of contract signing):

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (if positive TB history)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declination allowed)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 30 days of start
• Flu seasonal vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background)
• Completion of facility orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required
• Employment application including last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist for assigned and float units, updated annually
• Employment verification for last 7 years
• Illinois Department of Public Health fingerprinting registry required if no Illinois state license

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• Floating to other units is required
• Weekend shifts every other weekend are mandatory
