Registered Nurse - Primary Care

Location: Juneau, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

This position supports the Healthcare for the Homeless Primary Care Program in an ambulatory care setting. The nurse will assist patients and medical staff, ensuring smooth clinic operations and quality patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical services in collaboration with providers and clinic staff.
  • Maintaining medication inventory and supplies not managed by the warehouse system.
  • Performing quality control checks on Point of Care tests.
  • Accurately documenting all care and services provided.
  • Assisting providers and anticipating their needs to ensure efficient patient care.
  • Communicating effectively with other departments to support patients and staff.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe working environment and reporting any equipment or safety issues.
  • Participating in mandatory training, in-services, and staff meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of clinic nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in Family Medicine
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
