Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Role: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm), with possible variations (7am-3pm or 7:30am-5:30pm)
- Circulator role preferred; scrub experience is a plus
- Minimum of 18 months recent OR experience required
- Orientation: 32-40 hours paid at 50% of base hourly rate
- ECG rhythm recognition test required during orientation (passing score needed)
- PBDS Assessment waived
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1.5 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification preferred but not required
- Scrub experience preferred
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone)
- Pass/fail competency exams (medication administration and ECG) required for all bedside RNs except OR RNs
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams required
- Fingerprinting must be completed under nursing code 4723.09
- Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
- Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months since last assignment may need to repeat orientation and modules
- Resume/CV with 10 years of work history required for certain OR Tech First Assistants and RNFAs (not applicable for this RN role)

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
- Orientation includes an ECG rhythm recognition test that must be passed
- Candidates must maintain all certifications and health requirements current throughout the contract
- Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification
