Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Northport, Alabama

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work primarily on a Multi-specialty Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
• 36 hours per week, holidays as required, every other weekend.
• Patient population includes medical patients (dialysis, telemetry monitoring, other acute medical needs) and surgical patients (orthopedic procedures such as fractures, shoulders, backs; general surgery including appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection).
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6.
• Focus on pain management, mobility, and prevention of complications.
• Supportive team environment focused on patient-centered care and optimal outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Red Cross equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry experience within the last year

• Position is patient-facing and clinical.
• EMR system used: Meditech.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
• Parking available.
• Must be willing to float to other units/hospitals.
