Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (Day shift: 07:00 - 19:30)
- Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Float within skillset required
- Triage experience required
- Must have worked in an ED setting with at least 45,600 visits per year (approx. 125 visits/day) within the past 8 months
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Successful completion of the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- One completed travel nursing assignment
- Experience with Cerner EMR system
Additional Requirements
- Background check including criminal history and education verification
- Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (not required for Sterile Processing Tech)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
Work Environment
- Emergency Department with high patient volume
- Use of Cerner EMR system
- Requires ability to work holidays and weekends on a rotating basis
- Float assignments within skillset expected
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department RNs with prior travel experience who meet the certification and competency requirements and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume ED setting.
