Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Colorado, Del Norte

Job Overview

• Work settings: Med-Surg and Emergency Department (ED)
• Prior critical access experience preferred
• Call shifts: 2 per month (days or nights depending on unit needs)
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: No
• Call hours: On call 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM to cover call-offs for days or nights in ED or Acute Care; call ends if all staff arrive by 7:00 PM
• Must be within 1 hour distance for call coverage
• Average daily census: 17-18 patients
• Start date: ASAP
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Med-Surg experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required for ER, preferred for other units
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – required for ER, preferred for other units

Required Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Colorado

Systems Used

• Medication system: Pyxis
• Documentation system: T-system

Additional Requirements

• Must complete background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG prior to start
• Physical exam within last 12 months
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Drug screening within last 12 months
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (no declinations or religious exemptions accepted)
• Must provide 2 professional references within last 3 years
• Skills checklist required
• Must complete Colorado CAPS release authorization and CAPS check results prior to start

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

This position requires flexibility to work in both Med-Surg and Emergency Department settings with on-call responsibilities and weekend shifts. Candidates should be comfortable in a critical access hospital environment.
