Registered Nurse - Flex Pool (Days)

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical, Surgical Acute (Laulima Unit), and Cardiovascular Unit (rarely).
Work 12-hour day shifts (06:45 AM to 07:15 PM).
Scheduled for 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation (no guaranteed hours).
Use equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.

Unit Details

Medical Unit: 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
Surgical Acute (Laulima Unit): 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6
Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4
Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Orientation & Additional Information

Orientation provided for each unit.
Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday.
Prior travel experience is required.
