Job Opportunity: Ortho Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Orthopedic Registered Nurse (Ortho RN)
- Shift: 3x12 hour weekend day shifts (Friday-Sunday OR Saturday-Monday)
- Unit Size: 38 beds
- Float: May float within scope to other Medical-Surgical departments as needed
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- On-Call: None required
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of orthopedic nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Proficient in PICC line management
- Skilled in starting IVs
Licensure & Certifications
- Must have an active Illinois RN license in hand to apply
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
Additional Requirements
- RTO (Return to Office) restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
- Guaranteed hours: Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay for those hours
- Scrub color: Any solid color
- Charting system: Cerner
- Parking: Permit required, no cost
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid/current US Driver’s License or State ID
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Various state-specific criminal and abuse registry searches as required by Illinois regulations
- Primary source verification of licenses and certifications
- Competency exam required for clinical candidates
- Physical exam within one year of start, including labs and immunizations (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, TB testing, flu vaccination or approved exemption)
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Badge photo required prior to start
- Completion of facility-specific documents such as code of conduct and parking permit forms

Notes
- Candidates must be able to meet all health and safety requirements including immunizations and drug screening.
- Fingerprinting must be completed in Illinois for clinical candidates without an IL state license providing direct care.
