Description

Registered Nurse - Cath Lab (Travel/Contract)

Location: Snellville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Patient Population

  • Adults to Geriatrics

Unit & Work Environment

  • Circulate procedures
  • Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias
  • Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring
  • Ratio/Census: 3 rooms with 5 beds; average daily census of 8-10
  • Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
  • Floating: Yes, within facility/scope of practice and possibly to sister campus
  • Call Requirements: 10 call days per month
  • Weekend Schedule: Every third weekend
  • Holiday Work: Expected to work 1-2 major holidays if they fall during assignment
  • Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (1st timers accepted)

Compliance & Screening

  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
  • Clinical screening to determine fit before final approval

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year

Orientation & Training Requirements

  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours approx.)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required (3 attempts max)
  • Color Blind Testing required
  • Competency exam required for nursing staff

Health & Background Requirements

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (including amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, THC, etc.)
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months or chest x-ray if positive history
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Immunizations or titers required for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer or signed declination)
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Background Checks & Documentation

  • Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
  • Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
  • References: 2 clinical references required
  • Work history verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof

Additional Notes

  • Scrub color provided by facility
  • Floating may include sister campus within scope of practice
  • Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Candidate must review and sign code of conduct and dress/professional appearance policies prior to start
