ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Valdosta, Georgia
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical/Surgical ICU (MSICU) travel contract position. The role involves floating between Critical Care and Progressive Care Units with a focus on adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients.

- 8 weeks

Unit and Patient Details
- Medical ICU and Surgical ICU patients (excluding cardiac and occasional pediatrics)
- Patient diagnoses include post-code, post-stroke, TPA administration, respiratory failure, and dialysis
- Float required between CPU, PCU, MS/Telemetry units (with a max of 4 patients in float assignments)
Schedule
- Every other weekend coverage
- Shift options: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts with guaranteed hours (typically 36-48 hours per week depending on shift length)
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
- First-time travel nurses are welcome
Required Certifications
- ACLS (American Heart Association only)
- BLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
- PALS preferred
Required Skills
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Care of ventilated patients
Systems Used
- Medication system: Omnicell
- Documentation system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Additional Notes
- Facility is sensitive to DNR orders; these may be redirected
- EPIC testing and orientation exams (EKG, medication, critical care) required with two attempts allowed
- Scrub color codes assigned by unit
- Mask fit testing completed at orientation
- COVID-19 vaccination required or approved exemption
- Fingerprinting requirements do not apply to RNs for this position
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments required prior to start
