Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a 42-bed Cardiac Medical Unit focused on Cardiac Telemetry.
• Patient ratio approximately 1:6.
• Care for predominantly cardiac patients with conditions such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, and various cardiac arrhythmias.
• Also care for medical patients with pneumonia, GI issues, COPD, diabetes, occasional stroke, and some surgical patients.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Work schedule includes 36 or 48 hours per week, holidays as required, and every other weekend.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg Telemetry or related specialty within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

• Position is patient-facing and clinical.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrub colors.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
• Parking available.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
