Description
X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology) - Travel/Contract
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures independently using proper techniques and contrast media administration. Work within scope of practice and licensure, including medication administration, equipment operation, and venipuncture. Coordinate patient flow and radiology department activities. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities and have on-call responsibilities.
Work Schedule
- Shifts: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Hours: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM (4 shifts per week, 9 hours each)
- Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays
- Floating assignments possible across multiple nearby campuses, including high-risk respiratory/COVID units
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Ohio
- Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate degree in Allied Health or Radiologic Technology
- Operating Room (OR) experience
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures independently
- Professional judgment in equipment maintenance and patient care
- Ability to float to other specialty clusters and support nursing care teams as needed
- Fit testing for N95 respirator required before working on high-risk respiratory units (PAPR may be provided if needed)
Documentation and Compliance Requirements
- I-9 and E-Verify completed prior to start
- Government-issued photo ID required
- 7-year criminal background check within 12 months prior to start
- Education verification (primary source) required
- Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness for work and free of communicable diseases
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation; annual TB questionnaire if past positive
- Drug screening (9 or 10 panel including marijuana) within 12 months prior to start and lab work within 72 hours of contract signing
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years, including 1 manager/supervisor or employment verification if references unavailable
- Current resume/application required
- Skills checklist updated within 1 year prior to documentation due date
Additional Notes
- Premier Health reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts during the contract due to low census with 2 weeks' notice without penalty
- Travelers are first to float at employer discretion and may be assigned medically appropriate duties outside primary specialty
- Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives
- Fingerprinting not required for this position/unit
- Must submit a completed medical questionnaire for respiratory protection prior to orientation
