Job Opportunity: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Marion, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work primarily in the Emergency Department (may be assigned to Marion or Gas City locations)
- Start date: Early May
- Provide nursing care in a fast-paced emergency setting
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Previous travel/contract nursing experience
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Criminal background check completed within 30 days of start (7-year search including SSN trace, counties, national criminal, and sex offender registries)
- Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Respirator fit test within 3 months of start and annually thereafter (specific mask models accepted)
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tdap (or declination)
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 3 months of start) or clear chest X-ray if previously positive
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; if negative/equivocal, 2 boosters required (can start after 2nd booster)
- Hepatitis B: Titer or declination (vaccination alone not accepted)
- Drug screening: 5-panel or more within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Flu vaccination required during flu season (October–April) unless approved for religious or medical exemption
Additional Requirements
- Completion of annual mandatory facility-specific training and competencies (approx. 40 minutes online)
- Annual skills checklist
- Two professional references within the last 3 years
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
Notes
- Fit mask testing must be completed prior to start or on the first day by appointment (no walk-ins)
- Facility dress code must be reviewed by the candidate
This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for experienced Emergency Department RNs with prior travel experience who are licensed in Indiana or hold a Compact license. Night shift availability and compliance with all required certifications and health screenings are mandatory.
