Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Rehab

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Shift Details

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 3 shifts per week (36 hours total)
  • Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday)
  • No floating required
  • No call
  • Block scheduling not accommodated

Patient Care

  • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
  • Acute inpatient rehabilitation setting
  • Care and management of ports
  • Blood glucose monitoring

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Experience in acute inpatient rehab required
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Prior travel experience NOT required

Licensure and Certifications

  • Current Pennsylvania RN license or Compact RN license required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

Additional Certifications (as applicable to unit)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) — verify based on assignment specifics

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:
    • SSN Trace
    • County, State, Nationwide Criminal Search
    • Sex Offender Search
    • Education Verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
  • Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint clearance required within 90 days of start
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 90 days of start
  • Pennsylvania PATCH and Medicheck search results required within 30-90 days of start
  • Employment application with 7 years of complete work history and explanations for gaps over 90 days
  • Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (9-panel without THC acceptable)
  • Physical exam within 2 months of start
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years
    • COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form
    • Flu vaccine or approved exemption (clinical staff)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
    • Hepatitis B (positive antibody titer or completed vaccine series; declinations not accepted)
    • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray per protocol
  • Respirator medical clearance required annually for respirator use starting 04/07/2025
  • Fit test questionnaire required prior to start
  • Photo for badge required for new candidates starting 3/31/2025 or later
  • Facility-specific affidavits and declination forms as applicable

Competency Exams and Testing

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required within 12 months of start
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required annually (passing score 88% or higher)
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for all RNs except certain specialties/positions
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required annually

Scheduling Notes

  • Return to Office (RTO) documentation required at time of submission; late submissions not accepted

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience within the last year
